Service Description
Picture a home full of friends, dinner on the table, and a conversation about the biggest questions of life through a Jewish lens – about identity, purpose, and freedom – every single week. Students meet weekly in intimate cohorts of up to ten, guided by a mentor who engages them as serious thinkers and thought partners. Classes are organized into thematic seven-week modules, so each cohort goes deep on one set of questions at a time. At the end of every module, families choose whether to continue, which means every student in the room is there because they want to be. In other words, it’s Torah Lishma. There are no grades and no tests. Just dinner, real conversation, and space to think seriously about who you are and how to live alongside your friends. Our first module of the year explores the biggest questions in Jewish thought: why we are here, what it means to be human, and what to do when things go wrong, through the lens of the Creation stories at the beginning of the Torah. Each class centers around a big question: 1. Why Did God Create the World? 2. How Did God Create the World? 3. Adam 1 vs. Adam 2: To Conquer or to Cultivate? 4. Why Did God Place Forbidden Trees in the Garden? 5. Cain and Abel — Why Do We Go To War? 6. How Do We Know When to Begin Again? 7. What Survived the Tower of Babel? The full price of the series is $540 ($75/class, 7 classes, plus $15 processing fee) and includes all class materials and dinners. Payments come in two installments of $270, once a month for two months.
